He was born in Ankara, 1956. He graduated from the Department of Painting, Gazi Higher Teacher Education School in 1982. He was awarded with the Master’s Degree in 1990 by Eskişehir Anatolian University, Faculty of Fine arts. He started to work as an Instructor at SüleymanDemirel University in 2000 and retired from duty in 2007.

Having opened 32 individual exhibitions Aktaş took part in many painting contests and group exhibitions. The artist is a member of the United Painters and Sculptors Organization (BRHD) and many of his works are included in official and private collections.
