JAYA DATTA

She has been painting for over 35 years and has taught art for over ten years in her native country of India. She had developed school curriculum for art programs for elementary and secondary levels. Her passion for arts led her to be very active in creating backdrops and stage art for various extra curricular school events. She was also engaged in teaching her own art programs to children privately. She is a Fine Arts Graduate and has been elected as Member of the prestigious ‘Ontario Society of Artists’, ‘Colour and Form Society’, ‘Mississauga Arts Council’ and ‘Visual Arts Mississauga’. She has held numerous exhibitions and art shows. She has also won many awards. She draws inspiration from having been exposed to myriad of cultures and ideas during her travels. Her work conveys emotions in a bold and fresh perspective. Her style of painting is modern figurative. She enjoys using various media and techniques in her art to showcase the beauty of diversity in ideas, methods and ultimately in life. This unique and spontaneous style and her sense of forms, colors and textures make her work stands out from the rest. She now permanently resides in the beautiful city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada with her family.
