She completed her studies at the Arts and Crafts Department at Gazi Institute of Education in 1973, and then received her bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Eskisehir Anadolu University. She lived in Germany for three years and spent her time visiting many different museums and galleries all over Europe. She interned at a school in the city of Neuwied which taught drawing and modeling to visually impaired students.
When she returned to Turkey, Yuksel began teaching in the same field at the Department of Special Education in Gazi University. She worked as an instructor at METU Department of Fine Arts for eight years. She qualified to participate in the State Art and Sculpture Exhibition as a student, and she has organized 51 solo exhibitions; five in Germany, one in New York, one in London.
With the invitation of the Romanian government, she attended Tescani International Camp 2000. She has been invited twice to state art exhibitions in Strumica, Macedonia, and has had 6 of her pieces added to the state art archives. With two of her paintings on display at George Enescu National Museum in Romania, Yuksel’s work can be found in Izmir Museum of Art and Sculpture, Eskisehir Anadolu University, Gazi University, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs Art Collection, USA, Romania, Canada, Germany, France, Finland, Bulgaria and many other banks and private collections.
Yuksel continues to work from her studios in Ankara and Istanbul. She is a member of the United Painters and Sculptors Association, the International Association of Plastic Arts, and the Visual Arts Education Association.
