Born in Sofia in 1951, he graduated from the Department of Painting at the National Academy of Arts. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and, although based in Sofia, he carries out a large part of his work in Turkey.
He has organized 18 solo exhibitions in Turkey. Through the Union of Bulgarian Artists, he has participated in several group exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad, and his paintings can be found in multiple official and private collections. Along with the National Art Gallery in Bulgaria, his work has been displayed at city museums in Sofia, Plovdiv, Shumen, Haskovo and Ruse.
The characters of Christo Yotov’s paintings are full of human passion. They are the residents of a charming, interesting world that is rather removed from reality.
